The eBay Category Aspects meta-data that has defined the listings on our marketplace it is changing in rapid speed. These rapid improvements, the challenge of keeping the metadata up-to-date and getting quick insight about what could have changed has become of more significance to the developer community.

Recently, we have enhanced the Taxonomy API by adding the possibility of retrieving aspects metadata across categories. We also launched an open source SDK created to assist users in gaining insight into aspect metadata modifications. The SDK makes use of the bulk download feature to download aspects. It compares the aspect metadata between two categories trees. The result is an exact and structured response that can be used to solve these scenarios:

Comparing bulk data files A with the most recent available on the website and then report the differences
We are confident about the release of Taxonomy API enhancements, and the Taxonomy API SDK will provide transparency on our evolving metadata to our customers and partners. This SDK is the most recent update to the open-sourced tools already available for facilitating integration to eBay's APIs that are RESTful. Developer contributions are encouraged. eBay customer service
